Biography
Prof. Dr. Tanwir Khaliq is a distinguished surgeon, medical educator, researcher and academic leader, currently serving as Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), Islamabad. He provides academic and institutional leadership with a focus on advancing medical education, research and healthcare excellence.
Prof. Dr. Tanwir Khaliq holds MBBS with distinction and postgraduate qualifications including FCPS in General Surgery, FRCS from the United Kingdom and Ireland, and advanced qualifications in medical education and surgical training. He has also received an Honorary FRCS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
His professional interests include General Surgery, Minimal Access Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Medical Education. He has made significant contributions to medical education and surgical training, including curriculum development, faculty development and advancement of standards in postgraduate medical education.
As Vice Chancellor of SZABMU, Prof. Dr. Tanwir Khaliq has emphasized academic excellence, innovation, impactful research and continuous advancement in the health sector.
