Biography
Professor Dr. Taejong Kim is a distinguished economist, educator and policy expert currently serving as Professor at the KDI School of Public Policy and Management. He also holds several key leadership positions including Chair of the Master of Public Policy (MPP) Program, Chair for Policy Education Advancement and Director of the Impact Evaluation Lab.
He earned his PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), one of the world's leading institutions for economic research and policy studies. Throughout his academic career, he has contributed significantly to the fields of public policy, economic development and impact evaluation through teaching, research and institutional leadership.
Prior to joining KDI School, Professor Kim held academic appointments at York University and the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), further strengthening his international experience in higher education and public policy research. His work focuses on advancing evidence-based policymaking, capacity building and policy education for future leaders and decision-makers.
Through his research, teaching and leadership roles, Professor Kim continues to contribute to strengthening public institutions, promoting effective governance and fostering innovative approaches to policy design and evaluation in both developed and emerging economies.
